ABOUT MASSAGE THERAPY

Massage Therapy (whether registered or awaiting registration) is the manipulation of soft tissue including, muscles, connective tissues, tendons, ligaments and facia. Massage Therapy is a healthcare option that can help alleviate discomfort associated with everyday life, occupational stressor's, muscular over-use and other various chronic pain conditions. 

ALEX ROSS

Alex Ross | RMT

Alex is a Registered Massage Therapist Certified with the College of Massage Therapists of British Columbia. He is a recent graduate of the new 3,000-hour massage therapy program at Kootenay Columbia College of Integrated Health Sciences in Nelson. 
 

Treatments with Alex are based on his patient's individual needs. As an RMT Alex integrates myofascial release, neuromuscular techniques, deep tissue massage and trigger point therapy. This approach allows Alex to work with each client to meet their specific wellness goals.

Alex grew up in the Kootenays and takes full  advantage of our amazing backyard in the mountains. Recreationally, Alex enjoys spending time participating in outdoor sports, golf, health and nutrition as well as playing hockey both indoors and outdoor. 

At this time Alex is closed to new patients!

Taumi-Marie McCreight | RMT 

Taumi McCreight graduated from the 3000+ hour registered massage therapy program from the Kootenay Columbia College of Integrative Health Sciences in August 2020. 

Taumi incorporates a variety of techniques including, muscle energy work, myofascial release, deep tissue, and trigger point therapy. While combining these techniques makes for an effective massage that will relieve tight muscles it also allows her patients to gain mobility and movement, enabling a smooth path towards healing.

In Taumi's spare time she can be found with her family and friends, enjoying the outdoors while staying active. Taumi is very passionate about massage therapy and helping others on their healing journey. She is very excited to continue her massage journey and looks forward to working with current and new clients.

Theresa "Tracey" Green | RMT

Theresa Green RMT has over 18 years experience. Over the years she has seen many clients including elderly, children, infants, pregnant women, professional athletes, and people with neurological differences.

 

 Her original massage therapy training was a holistic approach to touch and had modalities focused on mind, body, and spirit. Her training did include Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, and Anatomy. But it also included Qigong, Reiki, Aromatherapy, and craniosacral therapy. Many of the teachings focused on being present, sensitive, and empathetic to your clients. When Tracey moved to Canada she got her medical massage training and became an RMT. 

 

Theresa believes that the integration of her medical massage therapy training and her holistic massage therapy training will give her clients all encompassing care.

Carissa Wilson |  Massage Specialist 
Registered in Alberta 

Graduating from MaKami College in Edmonton in December of 2020, Carissa is offering massage at reduced rates. (Call for rate details). Carissa is a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) graduate of Alberta and therefore not billable to your extended health plans in BC.

Born and raised in the Kootenays you will find Carissa hiking in the mountains with her partner and friends, gardening, paddle boarding and running. Focused on health and well being she strives to reach personal goals.

Working as a Massage Specialist, Carissa has gained experience with relaxation, therapeutic and deep tissue massage along with myofascial and trigger point release, with these skills and experience Carissa looks forward to assisting her clients in reaching their self care goals.

Sue Monford |  Massage Specialist 

Sue Monford is a second-year student at Pacific Coastal College of Massage Therapy. She will graduate in June 2023 and will take BC exams shortly thereafter. Sue provides relaxation and therapeutic body massage to help patients decrease muscle soreness and joint stiffness, relieve stress, and increase body circulation. She has a warm and caring personality and aims to give the best of her care to every client she meets.  When not at work or school Sue enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Sue is devoted to her studies and becoming an RMT and looking forward to helping clients achieve their health goals.
