Dr. David Bzdel has over 15 years of experience in a wide variety of clinical settings caring for a diverse range of patients including infants and children, high level athletes, and seniors. As the principal owner and clinical director of Kootenay Integrated Health he is truly privileged to do what he loves on a daily basis. He is passionate about Chiropractic and creating a space of exceptional healthcare delivery where a person's needs will be addressed and care and service will be provided at a level unmatched in the community.

Dr. Bzdel employs a variety of techniques in practice including manual and activator instrument adjustments, myofascial active release as well as rehabilitative exercises and lifestyle advice.  He has a special interests in functional neurology and pediatric care with considerable time and education committed at the post graduate level.

 

Dr. Tyler Phillipson | BA, DC

Dr. Tyler Phillipson relocated from North Bay, Ontario where he has gained the education and experience working with a wide range of patients including those who are experiencing Vertigo/Dizziness Symptoms, Post-Concussion Management (All ages) as well as elite athletes. 

Dr. Phillipson applies both manual adjustments and instrument assisted adjustments to help increase the body’s natural range of motion. While deep tissue massage or (ART: Active Release Therapy) and other rehab techniques are utilized to help the body heal and restore pain-free movements.

 

Dr. Phillipson has certifications in sports science, whole foods nutrition, and CrossFit Trainer Level 1 applies to his practice to assist in the ultimate goal of achieving a pain-free outcome, while returning his patients to the activities they enjoy.

VESTIBULAR/VERTIGO | DIZZINESS & IMBALANCE ISSUES 

Vestibular rehabilitation therapy is a specialized form of therapy intended to alleviate both the primary and secondary problems caused by vestibular disorders. Patients can expect treatments to consist of (but not limited to):  positional maneuvers, habitual exercises, balance and/or gait retraining, stretching, relaxation techniques and adaptation exercises. Dr. Tyler Phillipson strives for optimal results which is done by providing continuous evaluation, while working closely with you to progressively improve your function and adjust treatment as needed.

Common symptoms that can be helped with vestibular rehabilitation include:

  • Dizziness or blurry vision with head movements

  • Neck tightness, stiffness and/or pain

  • Imbalance or frequent falls

  • Headaches

  • Sensitivity to light or loud noises

  • Vertigo/spinning

  • Nausea

  • Discomfort from crowds or busy environments

  • Difficulty reading
     

Patients typically referred (but not required) for vestibular rehabilitation therapy are those diagnosed with dizziness, imbalance, vertigo, Meniere’s syndrome, benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV), neck-related dizziness and migraines. Other candidates are patients who have had a stroke or brain injury or who frequently fall.
